Letter from the President

What an outstanding (and quick) year it has been! Everyone has worked very hard! With the help of the administration, faculty, staff, volunteers and students, The Rocket Review and silent auction baskets raised about $4300!! These funds paid for every student to have a summer workbook and each class to have extra supplies. The PTO was also able to purchase a popcorn machine, classroom books and supplies, 2 new sets of risers and much, much more from your fund-raising efforts. We have been successful in continuing to support the following projects.

• Accelerated Reader
• Behavior Bucks
• Field Trip Scholarships
• Field Day Ribbons
• Student Agendas
• Spirit items, DARE and WHiSK T-shirts
• 5th grade and Kindergarten graduation gifts
• Math Super Stars and Birthday books

At the same time, the Parent/Teacher Organization supported the school with teacher appreciation events and gifts, school supply packs, school store, The Rocket Power, skate night and classroom funds. In addition, the PTO created a brand new butterfly garden (with Mr. Sinclair’s tremendous help and a Palmetto Pride grant). All these programs could not be done so effectively without you; we appreciate your help and support. Thank you very, very much! Currently, 2006-2007 officers and committee chairs are being selected. We always look forward to meeting new volunteers and genuinely welcome fresh ideas!! Volunteering is fun, rewarding and crucial to keeping our children and their learning environment successful. In addition, the kids love to see us involved!! Thanks again and have a safe, relaxing summer.
